DIRECTOR
ROO MILJAN

Leading such a wonderful cast and crew has been the best directing experience of my life; I’ve adored having the chance to create such a fun film, from crazy sets to a strange cigarette-eating puppet. Having such an enjoyable time together on set has helped push this film to it’s own humorous heights.

Since the film’s conception I’ve been working closely with our director to perfectly capture Al’s bright and whimsical world; nailing down the right tone and atmosphere has been very important to this film. It’s been an amazing opportunity to create something that makes people smile, cry, and most importantly: laugh.

Producing “I Want to Believe” has been one of the biggest challenges of my life but also perhaps the most rewarding. Working with the incredible cast and crew has been an immense privilege and running the production behind the scenes to help bring the directors vision to life in front of the screen is an opportunity I will never forget.

I have been working closely with Roo to achieve a visually quirky and experimental style; I've taken particular inspiration from Robert David Yeoman and David M. Dunlap. Ultimately I consider myself extremely lucky to have such a fantastic team and platform to really experiment with what I can achieve.

Working closely with the producer and various departments has been a joy, melding logistical precision with creative ingenuity to bring our vision to life. Every step, from budgeting to coordinating shoots, has been immensely satisfying, particularly when witnessing the seamless execution on set.
SOUND
EMILY LOVERIDGE

Throughout the filming process I've worked alongside the DoP and director to ensure my soundscape matches their ideas perfectly. It was a challenge making sure the audio was the same quality throughout but it was so rewarding hearing the amazing story come to life through sound and music.

I was excited for the opportunity to edit a Sci-Fi Comedy. I saw it as a challenge, as I had never edited a film like this before, but its safe to say I am proud of how this film has turned out and feel like I have grown from this experience.

I’ve been working with our team to seamlessly piece together our magnum opus. The aspect of our film I’ve most enjoyed are the moments of anticipation and satisfaction of achieving the vision we shared, as well as the memories along the way.
